Well it was a sunny day. I had most everything. Just one quick run to the grocery store for Saran Wrap and was able to do some Kool Aid dyeing.
1 ounce of wool, 8 bottles of water with sport tops, kool aid (seen from top left, grape, blue raspberry lemonade, lemon lime, pink lemonade, either cherry or black cherry?, lemonade, orange and tropical punch) some gloves (unless you want kool aid stained hands) and spray bottle of vinegar.
step 1 cover table with newspaper and saran wrap,
step 2 get wool wet
3. spray wool with kool aid. I also sort of try to work or squish the color in.
4. spray with vinegar
5. wrap
6 I set it out in the sun. Don't have a spare pot for steaming the kool aid in yet. Would like to try building a pizza box solar oven sometime thought.
colors or flavors used this time, grape, raspberry lemonade, and pink lemonade.
On the needles
This last weekend was the Sequim Lavender Festival. So I have been working on knitting some more heart shaped sachets. I use various color schemes in Socks that Rock from Blue Mountain fibers. started one found I had another half way done, tried to finish the other one and ran out of yarn for it but will add what I have.
Mom also sort of volunteered to knit some so I got her some yarn and made a copy of the pattern I use. We went Saturday, looking for some replacement lavender plants and also some smells good. Saw a distilling process, got some smelly soaps, some more dried buds and a cute little pink and purple lavender plant
The Write Life
Camp NaNoWriMo is halfway through and I'm a few thousand away from the 25 k words. But oh well still lots of ideas and I might see about doing a little adding and editing.

Catching up Double time
Okay long time no post. but here goes.
On my needles
Mom's Meadow flower shawl, thanks goodness for lifelines. Meadow flower shawl for my littlest niece. started a shawl for myself, complicated lace pattern. Will tell you it's name later when I find the pattern. Also Labyrinth socks from Socks from the Toe up by Wendy Johnson. And my vampire boyfriend socks from Knitty.
Behind the Wheel
on my Ashford traditional I'm spinning up some silk merino in two shade of green and one shade of blue in an attempt to blend colors together. Also spun up some wool on my drop spindles. Last week I had discovered how nice the gray wool I have at the cottage would go with the aqua and lilac wool at Twisted ewe so got an ounce of each and spun that up on my drop spindles. Will finish up the silk/merino on my wheel before I spin up the gray to ply with the aqua and lilac.
The Write Life
I had to decide to join along with Camp NaNoWriMo writing 50k words in 31 days. Maybe a little easier with an extra day. but summer also means going outside a lot and July also means Tour deFleece, the spinning while cyclists are racing on bicycles in France. I am trying my best but I am a little bit behind on both. Thanks to having getting Netflixs I have been watching a lot of Anime during the day. But have done some drawings of characters and places for inspiration.
